The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has announced that the upcoming observance of his 68th birthday would be moved, this year, from the middle of the month of Ramadan to Thursday, August 14, 2014, which has been declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Brunei Darussalam.
As was the case last year (2013-07-08), Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan and the Patron of the National Committee of His Majesty's 68th birthday celebration, did add that, the traditional date of July 15, 2014, would still be observed as an annual public holiday in Brunei, in line with the list of official bank holidays and public holidays in Brunei Darussalam for the calendar year 2014, as released, earlier this year (2014-01-04), by the Information Department of Brunei Darussalam's Prime Minister's Office.
