Falkland Islands 2014-2017 Public Holidays Announced

Source: Falkland Islands Government (Stanley)

The Falkland Islands Government has released the list of annual non-working public holidays throughout the Falkland Islands for the period of 2014-2017.

Despite last year's declaration of a one-off non-working public holiday in the Falkland Islands to coincide with that day's memorial service for the late Baroness Thatcher (2013-04-10), Margaret Thatcher Day, on 10 January, remains neither a government holiday nor a public holiday in the Falkland Islands, despite some calls to replace peat-cutting day (2002-01-04) with a new annual non-working public holiday in the Falkland Islands for Margaret Thatcher Day.
