Indonesia's Central Bank, has announced that Wednesday, July 9, 2014, would also be a bank holiday in Indonesia and that, on that date, the Indonesian Stock Exchange would also close.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the recent (2014-06-19) announcement by the Government of Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, that Wednesday, July 9, 2014, the polling day for the upcoming presidential elections, had once again (2014-04-05, 2014-04-03, 2013-05-10, 2012-09-15, 2012-06-21, 2010-05-10, 2009-07-03, 2009-03-31, 2008-07-06, 2004-03-30 and 1999-05-29) been declared as a one-off non-working public holiday in Indonesia "so that employees across the country can concentrate on the elections without being burdened by work".
The day of the recent Indonesian parliamentary elections was also declared a non-working public holiday (2014-04-03) and a bank holiday (2014-04-05) in Indonesia.
