The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Saturday, December 20, 2014, as a national non-working public holiday in Liberia to be observed across the country on account of Liberia's 2014 Special Senatorial Elections.

The declaration of one-off non-working public holidays in Liberia is relatively common (2014-07-30, 2012-06-20, 2012-05-02, 2012-04-23, 2012-01-13, 2011-08-09, 2011-01-28, 2009-11-23 and 2009-11-09).
