Libya's ruling National Transitional Council has announced that Monday, January 13, 2014, had been declared a non-working public holiday throughout Libya on account of the upcoming annual Mawlid Al-Nabi (Birth of the Prophet) non-working public holiday in Libya.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the overhaul of Libyan public holidays carried-out 2 years ago (2012-01-08), and in particular confirms that Libya is no longer using the Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Science (LCRSS) Islamic Calendar (2007-08-29), and now seems to use a variant of the Saudi Umm-al-Qora Islamic Calendar.
