Madagascar Public Holidays Amended

Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement, at its meeting of last Tuesday, issued a decree amending the "Décret N°2014- 042 fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l'année 2014", which officially declared the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2014, as well as the annual public holidays to come in 2015 and subsequent years.

As per the aforementioned decree ("Décret n° 2014-1815 du 2 décembre 2014 abrogeant le décret n° 2010-990 du 10 décembre 2010 déclarant le 11 décembre journée chômée et payée, journée de la célébration de la 4ème République"), the December 11 annual non-working public holiday of Madagascar which was declared a new annual public holidays at the end of 2010 (2010-12-10), to commemorate the anniversary of the fourth republic (jour d'anniversaire de la promulgation de la Quatrième République), and observed as such since then (2013-01-30, 2012-01-18, and 2011-01-15), is herewith canceled with immediate effect, including a last-minute change to the "Décret N°2014- 042 fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l'année 2014", which officially declared the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2014, earlier this year (2014-02-13).
