Mauritania Eid al-Adha Public Holidays October 5-6

Mauritania's Commission centrale d'observation du croissant lunaire (the government-run Central Moon Sighting Committee) has announced that the upcoming El Id Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Mauritania, would be observed on Sunday and Monday, October 5 and 6, 2014.

As was the case in most previous years (2014-07-27, 2010-11-15, 2001-12-13, 2001-03-04 and 2000-01-05), but not all (2013-10-09 and 2011-11-01), the President of Maurtitania issued a decree extending the El Id Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday for a second day in Mauritania.

Note that, effective October 1st, 2014, Mauritania is back to Saturday/Sunday weekends (2014-09-12).
