Mauritania's Commission centrale d'observation du croissant lunaire (the government-run Central Moon Sighting Committee) has announced that the upcoming El Id Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Mauritania, would be observed on Sunday and Monday, October 5 and 6, 2014.

As was the case in most previous years (27-Jul-2014, 15-Nov-2010, 13-Dec-2001, 04-Mar-2001 and 05-Jan-2000), but not all (09-Oct-2013 and 01-Nov-2011), the President of Maurtitania issued a decree extending the El Id Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday for a second day in Mauritania.

Note that, effective October 1st, 2014, Mauritania is back to Saturday/Sunday weekends (12-Sep-2014).
