The president of Nauru, Sprent Dabwido, has declared Monday, March 10, 2014, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Nauru on the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on a Saturday, this year.
As per the official announcement, "Having fallen on the weekend, a public holiday was declared the following Monday (10 March)".
The aforementioned declaration of Monday, March 10, 2014, as a non-working public holiday in Nauru, though not a surprise (2013-03-01 and 2009-03-02), is in addition to the list of non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2014 which was announced earlier this year (2014-01-03).
