Philippines deputy presidential spokesperson, Abigail Valte, has announced that Malacañang, the Presidential Palace, is considering declaring certain days as one-off non-working public holidays in the Philippines during Pope Francis' upcoming visit in January 2015.
Pope Francis is scheduled to visit the Philippines from January 15-19, 2015, in Manila and in Tacloban.
Recently (2012-03-18), the Cuban government had declared public holidays from March 26 to 28, 2012, to coincide with the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Santiago de Cuba and Havana.
