The Executive Secretary to the Office of the President of the Philippines, Paquito N. Ochoa Jr., has announced that, in a reversal of an earlier announcement, Malacañang had issued Memorandum Circular No. 73 declaring a one-off afternoon non-working public sector holiday, on Friday, October 31, 2014, "to allow employees to travel to their respective provinces", before the November 1, 2014 as special non-working day.
Today's announcement comes after an announcement earlier this week (27-Oct-2014), from Philippines' Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary, Herminio Coloma Jr., denying new rumours that Friday, October 31, 2014, had been, or would be, declared as an additional non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
