Romania Extends 2014 Public Holidays

(Posted on Wednesday, December 10, 2014)

The Romanian Government has announced that it had declared Wednesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 31, 2014, as additional, one-off non-working public sector holidays in Romania.

The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 31, 2014, as one off non-working public sector holidays in Romania, thus amends the lists of public holidays for 2014 in Romania (25-Feb-2013).

As is common in such cases (13-Dec-2013, 14-Aug-2013, 28-Nov-2012 and 26-Apr-2012) when bridge public holidays are declared in Romania, the aforementioned one-off non-working public sector holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays (December 13 and 20), or by overtime work to be performed before January 31, 2015.
