Solomon Islands December 10 Public Holiday Ruled-Out

The Solomon Islands Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening has ruled-out declaring Wednesday, December 11, 2014, as another one-off electoral non-working public holiday in the Solomon Islands on the occasion of the Guadalcanal Provincial election.

Last month (2014-11-13), on the occasion of the National Elections, the Solomon Islands caretaker Minister for Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Manasseh Maelanga, the minister responsible for declaring national public holidays in the Solomon Islands, had announced that the upcoming National Election day, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, would once again be declared a national non-working public holiday in the Solomon Islands.
