The Government of Trinidad and Tobago, through its Communications Minister, Vasant Bharath, has announced that Friday, June 20, 2014, would be another one-off non-working public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago, due to the coincidence of the Feast of Corpus Christi public holiday and the Labour Day annual public holidays of Trinidad and Tobago in 2014.
As per the aforementioned announcement, "The Public Holidays and Festivals Act Chapter 1905 states that where a public holiday falls on a Sunday, or where two public holidays fall on the same day, the next following day that is not a public holiday shall be a public holiday".
Last year, under similar circumstances (2013-05-09), the Government of Trinidad and Tobago had announced that Friday, May 31, 2013, would be a one-off non-working public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago, due to the coincidence of the Feast of Corpus Christi public holiday and the Arrival Day public holiday in 2013.
