Antigua and Barbuda's Minister of Labour, Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin, has informed the media that the Antiguan government cabinet will need to meet before it can decide if it should declare Monday, December 28, 2015, as another one-off non-working public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda, due to the annual Boxing Day non-working public holiday of Antigua and Barbuda falling on a Saturday in 2015.

In 2012 and 2013, the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda had released official lists of public holidays in Antigua and Barbuda for the calendar years 2012 and 2013 which contained errors, and which were later corrected, after we contacted the Ministry of Legal Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda (2013-02-05, 2013-01-31 and 2011-12-08). Afterwards, the government of Antigua and Barbuda provided a link on their website to a list of 2012-2018 non-working public holidays in Antigua and Barbuda that we had provided them.

That list of the non-working public holidays in Antigua and Barbuda for the calendar year 2015 does not include a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda on Monday, December 28, 2015, as the current public holidays legislation in Antigua and Barbuda, to writ, Cap 354, subsection 2 of "Antigua and Barbuda's Public Holiday Act", and later amendments (2014-08-19, 2004-03-04, 2003-10-01, 2000-12-28, 2000-11-21, and 2000-11-09), specifies that "If Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, then the following Monday shall be a public holiday, and if Christmas falls on a Sunday, then the next following Monday and Tuesday shall be public holidays", but remains silent on the eventuality of the Boxing Day public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda falling on a Saturday.
