Bangladesh's Election Commissioner Abu Hafiz, who saw the UK polls last month, has issued a note against future polling/election days being declared one-off non-working public holidays in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's government had declared Sunday, January 5, 2014, as an official non-working public holiday in Bangladesh for the 10th Parliamentary Elections (2013-12-31), and five years before (2008-12-19), the date of the 9th Parliamentary Elections had also been declared an official non-working public holiday in Bangladesh.
