Egyptian Cabinet spokesperson, Hossam El-Qaweish, has announced that the Egyptian cabinet had declared Thursday, August 6, 2015, as another one-off non-working public holiday in Egypt on account of the upcoming inauguration of the new Suez Canal.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the decision to declare Thursday, August 6, 2015, a non-working public holiday in Egypt on account of the upcoming inauguration of the new Suez Canal, will be limited to workers in the government sector, and follows another recent declaration of a one-off non-working public holiday in Egypt (2015-06-29) in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Egypt for the calendar year 2015 (2015-01-01).
