El Salvador Mulls May 22-23 Public Holidays

The spokesperson for the President of El Salvador (Secretario de Comunicaciones de la Presidencia), Eugenio Chicas, has announced that the decision as to whether to declare one-off non-working public holidays in El Salvador, on account of the upcoming beatification of Monseñor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, would be made by President Salvador Sánchez Cerén, once the National Assembly is back in session.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the one-off non-working public holidays in El Salvador, on account of the upcoming beatification of Monseñor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, would apply to both the private and public sector, but, contrary to the previous one-off public holiday in El Salvador (2015-03-12), only in the greater San Salvador metro area ("El asueto sería para empleados públicos y privados únicamente de el gran San Salvador").
