The Ministre de la Fonction Publique et de la Réforme de l'Administration of the Government of Guinea Conakry, Sekou Kourouma, has issued a communique declaring Monday, January 5, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Guinea Conakry.
As per the aforementioned announcement "La journée du 5 janvier 2015 est déclarée journée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national". The declaration of Monday, January 5, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Guinea Conakry is apparently an attempt to take the wind out of the sails of the current strike movement of 6 of Guinea Conakry's unions.
