The Government of India's State of Telangana has issued the "G.O.Rt.No.3192 Dated 30.12.2015" which declares New Year's Day 2016, on Friday, January 1st, 2016, as a non-working public holiday in India's State of Telangana, as opposed to an optional public holiday in India's State of Telangana.
Telangana was formed as the 29th state of India on June 2, 2014, having been separated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and the list of 2016 non-working public holidays in India's state of Telangana was originally, and quite recently, published in the "Telangana GO 3192 List of General Holidays, Optional Holidays for the year 2016" (2015-12-07).
As per the aforementioned announcement, similar to the recent one concerning Boxing Day (2015-12-04), "In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.3192, General Administration (Poll.A) Department, dated 05.12.2015, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays, the Government hereby declare 01.01.2016 (Friday) as Public Holiday on the occasion of New Year's Day, instead of Optional Holiday, declared earlier. Consequently, 13.02.2016 (2nd Saturday of February) shall be observed as a working day for all the Government Offices of Telangana State in lieu of Public Holiday declared on 01.01.2016 (Friday).".
