The Government of India's State of Telangana has announced that it had declared Tuesday, October 20, 2015, as a non-working public holiday in India's State of Telangana to mark the upcoming Bathukamma Festival annual non-working public holiday in the Indian State of Telangana.
Telangana was formed as the 29th state of India on June 2, 2014, having been separated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Initially, in the announced list of the names (but no dates) of the annual non-working public holidays in the Indian state of Telangana, the Bathukamma non-working public holiday was thought to be destined to be observed on the first day of the Bathukamma Festival, but as per today's announcement, it appears that the Bathukamma non-working public holiday in the Indian state of Telangana is to be observed on the last day of the festival, on the Saddula Bathukamma.
The initial list of the names (but no dates) of the annual non-working public holidays in the Indian state of Telangana, was later followed by the list of the names and dates for 2015 of the non-working public holidays in India's state of Telangana, as published in the "G.O.Rt.No.995, General Administration (Poll.A) Department, dated 05.11.2014, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays 2015".
