India's Central Government's Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has released its annual list of public holidays and restricted holidays to be observed in all the Administrative Offices of the Central Government of India, for the upcoming calendar year 2016.
As was the case for the past 3 years (2014-06-07 and 2014-07-16, 2013-06-15 and 2012-06-10), but contrary to what happened for the previous 4 years (2011-07-03, 2010-06-27, 2009-06-13, and 2008-06-15), the aforementioned list of 2016 public holidays and restricted holidays to be observed by India's Central Government has a different date for the northern Indian Diwali as for the southern Indian Deepavali.
As usual, the aforementioned list of 2016 public holidays and restricted holidays to be observed by India's Central Government includes the mention that "It may happen that the change of date of the above occasions has to be declared at a very short notice".
