The government of Kazakhstan has announced that Monday, May 11, 2015, had been declared a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan to compensate the annual Victory Day public holiday of Kazakhstan falling on a weekend in 2015.
This announcement follows from the 2001 amended version of Kazakhstan's Labour Code and the Law on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001-12-14) which states that "the days of the national and state holidays are non-working days" and that "in case of coincidence of a day off and a holiday, a day off will be the next day following the holiday".
