Earlier this morning, as a lead-up to tonight's Malaysia Cup final between the Malaysian states of Selangor and Kedah, the Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Kedah, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, promised to declare tomorrow, Sunday, December 13, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in the Malaysian state of Kedah, if the Kedah team wins the championship.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the decision to declare tomorrow, Sunday, December 13, 2015, a one-off non-working public holiday in the Malaysian state of Kedah, if the Kedah team wins tonight's championship, was taken after discussing it with the state executive council, and with the blessing of the Council of Regency chairman, Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah.

Usually, Malaysia's State of Kedah declares one-off non-working public holidays on account of elections (2013-04-24 and 2004-03-09), leaving it to other Malaysian states to declare one-off non-working public holidays on account of football victories (2015-10-31, 2015-05-19, 2014-11-02, 2013-11-01, 2013-10-30, 2013-06-13, 2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...).

Note that Sundays are regular working days, in the Malaysian states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and, most recently, Johor (2013-11-23), thus making logical the promise to declare Sunday, December 13, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in the Malaysian state of Kedah, if the Kedah team wins the championship.
