In another flip-flop, earlier today, Kenyan State House spokesman, Manoah Esipisu, announced that the government of Kenya had declared Thursday, November 26, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya.

Today's announcement ("the public holiday is timely as it will give Kenyans ample time to reflect in prayers"), comes on the heels of last weekend (2015-11-22), when, after a month of repeated announcements that Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2015, might be declared as one-off non-working public holidays in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya, Kenyan State House spokesman, Manoah Esipisu, finally announced that the government of Kenya had opted not to declare Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2015, as one-off non-working public holidays in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya.

Last month (2015-10-25), Kenyan State House spokesman, Manoah Esipisu, had announced that the government of Kenya was considering declaring Thursday, November 26, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya ("Thursday, November 26, might be declared a public holiday due to disruption by Pope Francis mass at [University of Nairobi] grounds"), and earlier this month (2015-11-09), House spokesman, Manoah Esipisu, went even further and announced that the government of Kenya was considering declaring both Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2015, as one-off non-working public holidays in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya.

The declaration of Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2015, as one-off non-working public holidays in Kenya on account of the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Kenya, would have been in addition to the list of Kenyan non-working public holidays contained in the memo clarifying the list of, and rules regulating, public holidays in Kenya, and which was issued by Kenya's Permanent Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service, Francis K. Muthaura, 4 years ago (2011-01-10), following the promulgation of a new Kenyan Constitution (2010-08-12).
