Maldives Extends 2015 Eid al-Adha Public Holidays

The spokesperson for the Office of the President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Muaz Ali, has twitted that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom had decided to extend the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual public holidays in the Maldives and link it to the previous weekend by declaring additional non-working public holidays in the Maldives on Sunday and Monday, September 20 and 21, 2015.

As per the text of the aforementioned announcement, "Al'ha Eid bandhaa gulhigen, muvazzafunnah luifaseyha ah takai Sept 20 adhi 21, sarukaaru bandhu dhedhuvas kamugai Raees nimmavaifi", the previously-announced (06-Jan-2015 and 21-Jan-2015) dates for the 2015 Eid al-Adha annual non-working public holidays in the Maldives will be extended to include Sunday and Monday, September 20 and 21, 2015.
