The government of Nepal has announced that tomorrow, Friday, April 17, 2015, had been declared as a one-off national non-working public holiday throughout Nepal on account of that day's final rites for former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, five-time Prime Minister, who died last night.
The aforementioned announcement is in addition to the recent (2015-03-03) gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2072 (mid-April 2015 to mid-April 2016).
A similar one-off non-working public holiday throughout Nepal was declared a few years ago (2011-03-05), to mourn the death of former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai.
