Nicaragua 2015-2016 Year-End Public Holidays

Nicaragua's Minister of Labour, Alba Luz Torres, has announced that MITRAB (Ministerio del Trabajo) had once again declared extended public sector non-working public holidays in Nicaragua centered around the Nicaraguan public holidays for Christmas 2015 and New Year's Day 2016.

As per the aforementioned announcement, MITRAB has declared public sector holidays in Nicaragua, centered around the Nicaraguan public holidays for Christmas 2015 and New Year's Day 2016, from 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, until Sunday, January 3, 2016, inclusively.

This announcement, based on Article 76 of Nicaragua's Labor Code, has become expected annually (2014-12-10, 2012-12-13, 2011-12-17, 2010-12-04, 2009-12-07, 2008-12-05, 2007-12-03, 2006-12-14, 2004-12-01, and 2001-12-05), although the original legislation only extends the public sector holidays in Nicaragua, centered around the Nicaraguan public holidays for Christmas 2015 and New Year's Day 2016, from December 24, until January 1st.
