Peru's Central Bank (Banco Central de Reserva del Perú) has announced that it had declared Monday, July 27, 2015, as a one-off bank holiday in Peru, in line with the recent Peruvian Government's declaration of Monday, July 27, 2015, to link the annual July 28-29 "Fiestas Patrias" with the preceding weekend.
The aforementioned announcement that, follows Wednesday night's announcement (2015-07-23) by Peru's Minister of Labour (Ministerio de Trabajo y Promoción del Empleo-MTPE), Daniel Maurate, of the declaration of a one-off non-working public holiday in Peru on Monday, July 27, 2015, to link the annual July 28-29 "Fiestas Patrias" with the preceding weekend ("Tras un intenso debate, al final, la conclusión es que el día lunes tendremos feriado para que los trabajadores puedan disponer del día y descansar porque estas fiestas patrias todos quieren estar en el calor de la familia"), for Peru's public sector, with the private sector remaining free to follow suit with the extra public holiday being recuperated at a later date ("Esto es para el sector público, para el privado puede haber un acuerdo con los empleadores para que luego se recupere como siempre son todos los feriados").
