The National Moon-Sighting Commission of Sénégal ("Commission nationale d'observation du croissant lunaire" - CNOCL) has announced that the upcoming Tamkharit (aka. Ashura, aka. Achoura) annual non-working public holiday in Sénégal would be on Friday, October 23, 2015.

Note that, often (17-Sep-2015, 26-Sep-2014, 09-Oct-2013, 30-Aug-2011 and 18-Dec-2007), many Senegalese Muslim communities, such as the Coordination des musulmans de Dakar, announce that they will not follow the recommendations of the CNOCL and instead will follow the dates announced by Saudi Arabia (13-Sep-2015).
