The Conselleria de Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya has gazetted the previously-announced annual list of the 2016 non-working public holidays (calendario laboral) in Spain's Autonomous Region of Cataluña.
The aforementioned list of 2016 public holidays in Spain's Autonomous Region of Cataluña was announced earlier this year (2015-04-15) by the Conselleria de Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya and has now been gazetted as the "Orden EMO/168/2015, de 25 de mayo, por la que se establece el calendario oficial de fiestas laborales para el año 2016" (DOGC de 9 de junio de 2015).
Recall that, for the calendar year 2016, the Autonomous Region of Cataluña has declared regional public holidays on Easter Monday, as usual (2014-03-12), and on Granada Easter Monday, as it did a few years ago (2010-05-31).
As per custom (2014-03-12, 2013-09-07, 2013-07-24, 2012-06-29, 2011-05-16, 2010-05-31 and 2009-06-05), Cataluña is the only Spanish region that does not observe Maundy Thursday as a public holiday, opting, instead, to declare Easter Monday (Dilluns de Pasqua) as a regional public holiday.
