Swaziland's Ludzidzini Royal Residence Governor Mtetwa, has announced that the upcoming Incwala annual non-working public holiday in Swaziland would soon be announced, and that in all likelihood, the upcoming Incwala non-working public holiday in Swaziland would be either Wednesday or Thursday, January 7 or 8, 2015.

The date of the main Incwala dance, which is an annual non-working public holiday in Swaziland, is usually announced only a few days beforehand (2013-12-16, 2012-12-19, 2011-12-09, 2010-12-21, 2009-12-31, 2008-12-13, 2007-12-26, and 2007-01-04).

Due to the complex nature of the rule used to specify the date of the Incwala main day, and its related public holiday, the Incwala public holiday sometimes occurs twice in a year (2010-12-21, 2010-01-02, 2007-12-26, and 2007-01-04) and will happen twice this year as well as in 2018, and 2019. On the other hand some years it does not occur at all, as was the case in 2006, 2009 and 2014 and will be the case again in 2017 and 2020.

Based on our calculations, we estimate that the upcoming Incwala public holiday would be announced for Thursday, January 8, 2015.
