Turkey's Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoğlu, has signed a decree declaring an additional non-working public sector holidays in Turkey, on Friday, October 30, 2015, as an "administrative holiday" public sector holiday to link the October 29 Republic Day public holiday with the following weekend and the November 1st elections.

Earlier this year (2015-09-16), the government of Turkey extended the Eid al-Adha annual non-working public holidays in Turkey, by declaring September 21-22-23, 2015, as "administrative holiday" public sector holiday to link the weekend with the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) public holiday which was set to begin on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

Last year (2014-10-01), the government of Turkey has similarly, albeit on a smaller scale, declared the morning of Friday, October 3, 2014, as an "administrative holiday" public sector holiday to link the weekend with the 2014 Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) public holiday which was set to begin on the afternoon of Friday, October 3, 2014.

A few years before (2010-11-12), again under similar circumstances, the government of Turkey had also declared the morning of Monday, November 15, 2010, as an "administrative holiday" public sector holiday to link the weekend with the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) public holiday which was set to begin on the afternoon of Monday, November 15, 2010.
