The UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, has finally announced the dates of the upcoming annual Martyrs' Day and National Day non-working public holidays in the UAE, for the public sector, as running from Tuesday, December 1, until Saturday, December 5, 2015, inclusively.

The aforementioned announcement of a 5-day period of non-working public holidays for the UAE public sector, from Tuesday December 1, until Saturday, December 5, 2015, inclusively, was made possible by the recent addition of a new annual non-working public holiday in the UAE, Martyrs' Day, announced this past summer (2015-08-19) by the UAE's President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who gave orders for a new annual non-working public holiday in the UAE to be added to the list of annual non-working public holidays in the UAE on November 30th, to commemorate "Martyrs' Day". However, as per the UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, "if a public holiday falls between two weekdays it can be moved to the beginning or end of that week". Recall that the UAE weekend was changed, a decade ago (2006-08-15 and 2006-05-31), to Fridays and Saturdays.

We are still waiting for a separate announcement, the UAE's Minister of Labour, Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, as to the date(s) of the non-working private sector public holiday marking of the upcoming UAE National Day. Traditionally (2014-11-13, 2014-11-08, 2013-11-27, 2013-11-25, 2012-11-27 and 2012-11-22), the private sector of the UAE gets one day of public holidays less than the public sector for the UAE National Day non-working public holidays.
