The Algerian public sector ministry (Direction Générale de la Fonction Publique) has announced that Monday and Tuesday, September 12 and 13, 2016, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Algeria.
As usual (2015-09-13, 2014-10-03, 2014-07-27, 2013-11-13, 2012-11-14, 2012-08-17 and 2011-02-13), the aforementioned announcement ("Les journées du 10 et 11 dhou el hidja 1437, correspondants aux 1er et 2e jours de l'Aïd el-Adha, soit le 12 et 13 septembre 2016, seront chômées et payées") that Monday and Tuesday, September 12 and 13, 2016, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha, follows an earlier communiqué by the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments (Ministère des Affaires religieuses et du Wakf).
Seven years ago (2009-07-24), the Algerian government changed its weekends from Thursday/Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday/Saturday weekend.
