Bangladesh Extends 2016 End of Ramadan Public Holidays

Earlier today, a public administration ministry official announced that Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, had approved a one-off non-working public holiday in Bangladesh on Monday, July 4, 2016, by virtue of her executive powers, meaning that Bangladesh's government offices will be closed from July 1st to July 9, 2016, inclusively, for the upcoming Jumatul Bidah, Shab-e-Qadar, and End of Ramadan public holidays of Bangladesh.

The aforementioned announcement that Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, had approved a one-off non-working public holiday in Bangladesh on Monday, July 4, 2016, by virtue of her executive powers, meaning that Bangladesh's government offices will be closed from July 1st to July 9, 2016, inclusively, goes on to state that Bangladesh's government employees will have to work on Saturday, July 16, 2016, in compensation for today's declaration of Monday, July 4, 2016, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Bangladesh.

The declaration of Monday, July 4, 2016, as a public holidays in Bangladesh thus amends the Notice No: 06.00.0000.270.08.005.12-280 of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2015-11-02) which announced the official list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2016, as regards the dates of the 2016 public holidays in Bangladesh.
