The government of Benin has released a communiqué signed by Benin's Minister of Labour and Social Security, Adidjatou Mathys, announcing that the government of President Patrice Guillaume Athanase Talon had declared Monday, August 15, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "fête de l'Assomption" annual non-working public holidays in the Bénin.
The aforementioned declaration of Monday, August 15, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "fête de l'Assomption" annual non-working public holidays in the Bénin ("la journée du lundi 15 août 2016 a été déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national en raison de la célébration en cette journée de la fête de l'Assomption"), is in line with the previously-announced list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2016, as announced by the government of Benin, earlier this year (2016-02-24), as well as with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
