The Royal Civil Service Commission of the Government of Bhutan has announced and confirmed that Friday, September 23, 2016, would be a non-working public holiday throughout Bhutan on the occasion of the upcoming Blessed Rainy Day or Thrue-Bab annual Bhutanese public holiday.
Last week (2016-09-16), due to numerous local calendars showing the 2016 Thruebab (Blessed Rainy Day) annual non-working public holiday of Bhutan on the wrong date, the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bhutan had confirmed that the date of the upcoming Thruebab (Blessed Rainy Day) annual non-working public holiday of Bhutan will be on the 22nd Day of the 7th Month of Fire Male Monkey Year of the Bhutanese Calendar, corresponding to the date of Friday, June 23, 2016, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bhutan, in contrast with the date of Thursday, September 22, 2016, included in the official list of national and regional non-working public holidays in Bhutan for the calendar year 2016, released last fall (2015-10-01) by the Royal Civil Service Commission of the Government of Bhutan.
A few years ago (2009-09-16), Bhutan's Cabinet reinstated the Thrue Bab (Blessed Rainy Day) national public holiday of Bhutan which had been canceled a couple of years before that (2007-01-03).
