Fiji's Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, has announced that there would be no one-off, or otherwise, non-working public holiday in Fiji, on Friday, November 11, 2016, to commemorate the centennial of the end of the arrival of Indian indentured laborers to Fiji.

The declaration of a non-working public holiday in Fiji, on Friday, November 11, 2016, to commemorate the centennial of the end of the arrival of Indian indentured laborers to Fiji, would have further amended the "Gazette Notice No. 68" (2015-10-21 and 2015-09-22), which listed the dates of the official non-working public holidays in Fiji for the calendar year 2016, but which was then was later amended twice (2016-03-25 and 2016-01-18).
