Fiji's Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, has confirmed that Fiji's Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, had declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Fiji, on Monday, August 22, 2016, to celebrate it's Olympic Team's victories in Rio.

The aforementioned declaration of a one-off non-working public holiday in Fiji, on Monday, August 22, 2016, to celebrate it's Olympic Team's victories in Rio is in addition to the Fiji public holidays listed in the "Gazette Notice No. 68" (21-Oct-2015 and 22-Sep-2015), which listed the dates of the official non-working public holidays in Fiji for the calendar year 2016, an initial list of the 2016 public holidays in Fiji was later amended twice (25-Mar-2016 and 18-Jan-2016).
