Gibraltar 2017 Public Holidays Announced

(Posted on Tuesday, November 15, 2016)

Source: Government of Gibraltar Press Office (Gibraltar)

The Government of Gibraltar has issued the "Bank and Public Holidays Order 2016" (LN. 2016/217) which specifies the official list of annual Gibraltar bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Gibraltar for the upcoming calendar year 2017.

The aforementioned legislation, which sets forth the bank holidays and public holidays for Gibraltar in the calendar year 2017, once again (02-Nov-2015) seems to depart from the changes to the rules concerning the Labour Day public holiday (03-Mar-2012), which were followed in recent years (01-Nov-2014, 02-Nov-2013 and 28-Oct-2012), as well as once again applying an odd day in lieu rule in 2017 for the Gibraltar National Day annual non-working public holiday.
