Honduras' "Secretaría de Derechos Humanos, Justicia, Gobernación y Descentralización" has announced that the upcoming annual, Año Nuevo, non-working public holiday of Honduras would not be moved to Monday, January 2, 2017, on account of the said non-working public holiday of Honduras falling on a Sunday in 2017.
The aforementioned announcement that the upcoming Año Nuevo public holiday of Honduras would not be moved to Monday, January 2, 2017, and that people should only trust information from official sources ("cualquier información que pueda surgir del gobierno de la República, respecto a un asueto, será publicado a través de los canales oficiales'"), is in line with past public holidays practice in Honduras, which prefers the Emiliani practice of moving public holidays which fall mid-week (2016-04-29), 2016-04-06, 2015-04-10, 2015-04-08, 2011-04-12, 2010-04-12, 2009-04-14 and 2009-04-03).
