Honduras' Minister of the Interior (ministro de Gobernación y Descentralización), Leonel Ayala, has announced that the upcoming annual, Día del Trabajo, non-working public holiday of Honduras would not be moved to Monday, May 2, 2016, on account of the said non-working public holiday of Honduras falling on a Sunday in 2016.
The aforementioned announcement that the upcoming Día del Trabajo public holiday of Honduras would not be moved to Monday, May 2, 2016, as the said Honduras public holiday of falls on a Sunday in 2016 ("no se correrá ningún feriado en el sector público, ya que cae domingo, día no laborable"), is in line with past public holidays practice in Honduras, which prefers the Emiliani practice of moving public holidays which fall mid-week (2016-04-06, 2015-04-10, 2015-04-08, 2011-04-12, 2010-04-12, 2009-04-14 and 2009-04-03).
