The government of the Ivory Coast, through its Ministère de l'Emploi, des Affaires Sociales et de la Solidarité Nationale, has announced that it had declared Monday, August 8, 2016, the day after the upcoming Independence Day non-working public holiday in the Ivory Coast, as another non-working public holiday in the Ivory Coast.

As was the case in some previous announcements (2016-04-29, 2013-01-22), though not all (2016-03-25, 2015-12-15 and 2014-01-10), the Government's announcement that Monday, August 8, 2016, the day after the upcoming Independence Day non-working public holiday in the Ivory Coast, had been declared as another non-working public holiday in the Ivory Coast ("A raison de la célébration de la fête de l'indépendance qui aura lieu le 7 août prochain, le lundi 08 août est décrété jour férié, chômé et payé sur toute l'étendue du territoire ivoirien"), does invoke Article 2 of the Décret n°96-205 du 07 mars 1996 (1996-05-09).
