Libyan 2016 Eid Public Holidays

(Posted on Tuesday, July 5, 2016)

Source: Libyan News Agency (LANA)

Both rival Libyan governments, namely the Tripoli-based Dar Al-Ifta, headed by Sadek Al-Ghariani, and the Thinni administration in Beida, have announced that the Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual non-working public holidays in Libya would start tomorrow, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.

The aforementioned announcement that the Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual non-working public holidays in Libya would start on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, is in line with the list of 2016 public holidays in Libya (03-Jan-2016) as released earlier this year, as well as in line with the overhaul of Libyan public holidays carried-out 4 years ago (08-Jan-2012).

Note that, after 5 years when the Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual non-working public holidays in Libya were extended for 3 to 4 days (27-Jul-2014), it would appear that this year's Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) annual non-working public holidays in Libya will only run for 3 days, namely from Wednesday to Friday, July 6-8, 2016.
