Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that Monday, May 2, 2016, would be a non-working public holiday for citizens of the Orthodox faith in Macedonia on account of the upcoming "Easter Monday" annual sectorial non-working public holiday in Macedonia, as well as being a nationwide non-working public holiday in Macedonia on account of the upcoming Labour Day annual non-working public holiday of Macedonia falling on a Sunday in 2016.

Last week (2016-04-23), Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy had announced that Friday, April 29, 2016, would be a non-working public holiday for citizens of the Orthodox faith in Macedonia on account of the upcoming "Good Friday, Friday before Easter" annual sectorial non-working public holiday.

Both above announcements, that Friday, April 29, 2016, had been declared a sectorial non-working public holiday on account of "Good Friday", and that Monday, May 2, 2016, would be a non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming "Easter Monday" and on account of the upcoming Labour Day annual non-working public holiday of Macedonia falling on a Sunday in 2016, are in line with the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy's official list of 2016 public holidays in Macedonia, as published late last year (2015-10-27), and, more generally with the Law on Holidays of the Republic of Macedonia (Official Gazette, and Br.21/98 7.18) as last amended in 2007 (2007-02-08).
