Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement, at yesterday's weekly meeting, has adopted the previously-entered "Décret du 4 janvier 2016 fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l'année 2016", thus officializing the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2016.

As per custom (2015-02-05, 2014-02-13, 2013-01-30, 2012-01-18, 2011-01-15, 2010-01-20, 2009-01-13 and 2008-01-16), the aforementioned list of 2016 Madagascar public holidays, had been based on an earlier decree recommendation issued by Madagascar's Ministère de la Fonction publique, du Travail et des Lois sociales (2016-01-05).

The aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2016, confirms the cancellation, late 2 years ago (2014-12-04), of the December 11 public holiday which was created at the end of 2010 (2010-12-10).
