Madagascar's president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, has announced that he had not yet decided if a week of non-working public holidays would be declared in Madagascar for the upcoming "Sommet de la Francophonie".

The aforementioned possible declaration of a week of non-working public holidays would be declared in Madagascar for the upcoming "Sommet de la Francophonie", would be in addition to the previously-released "Décret du 4 janvier 2016 fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l'année 2016", listing the non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2016 (2016-01-27 and 2016-01-05).
