A spokesperson for the Consejo de Gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid, Ángel Garrido, has announced that the regional government of Spain's autonomous region of Madrid had approved the annual list of official 2017 non-working public holidays (calendario laboral) in Spain's Autonomous Comunidad de Madrid.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the San José public holiday whose appearance over the years has been on (2014-09-18, 2012-09-23 and 2011-09-16) and off (2015-09-22, 2013-09-27 and 2007-09-30), will be one of the official 2017 non-working public holidays in Spain's Autonomous Comunidad de Madrid.

However, the oft celebrated Corpus Christi (2013-09-27, 2010-09-12, 2009-10-07 and 2008-09-26) will not be one of the regional public holidays of the autonomous community of Madrid for the calendar year 2017. This public holiday had been restored in 2009 after being dropped as a national public holiday throughout Spain in 1976.

Finally, in addition to the aforementioned regional public holidays in the autonomous region of Madrid, the city of Madrid itself observes May 15 (San Isidro) and November 9 (La Almudena) as municipal public holidays.
