The Home Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Narayan Gopal Malego, has issued a communiqué squashing rumours that the Cabinet of the Government of Nepal had decided to declare a one-off non-working public holiday in Nepal on Monday, April 25, 2016, to mark the anniversary of the Gorkha Earthquake that devastated Nepal last year.
The aforementioned announcement that the Cabinet of the Government of Nepal had not decided to declare a one-off non-working public holiday in Nepal on Monday, April 25, 2016, to mark the anniversary of last year's Gorkha Earthquake, is in line with the list of non-working public holidays in Nepal for the calendar year B.S. 2073 (April 2016-April 2017), and which was released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) of the government of Nepal, earlier this month (2016-04-02).
