The Home Ministry of the Government of Nepal has announced that the Cabinet of the Government of Nepal had decided to declare 3 consecutive non-working public holidays in Nepal on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, March 7-8-9, 2016, on account of the upcoming "Shivaratri", "Women's Day" and "Lhosar" annual non-working public holidays of Nepal, respectively.

The aforementioned announcement of the declaration of 3 consecutive non-working public holidays in Nepal on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, March 7-8-9, 2016, in line with last spring's (03-Mar-2015) gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2072 (April 2015-April 2016), and with the recent declaration by the Spokesperson for the Home Ministry of the Government of Nepal, Yadav Koirala, that the Government of Nepal had decided not to declare a one-off non-working public holiday in Nepal on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, on account of that day's partial solar eclipse, as Wednesday, March 9, 2016, is already a non-working public holiday in Nepal, on account of this year's Ghyalbo Lhosar annual non-working Nepalese public holiday (05-Mar-2016).
